FAQs

Do you accept insurance?

-Yes,

First Step Therapy LLC has developed a relationship with Alma, a growing network of mental health providers. This allows for First Step Therapy LLC to serve and be matched with patients in the state of Arizona where I am licensed. Alma has deep understanding of the services that First Step Therapy LLC provides to our community and handle the billing and contact with your insurance company.

-If I happen to be considered an out of network provider, I will gladly provide you with an invoice you can take to your insurance provider to request a reimbursement. I suggest to contact your insurance provider to ask about your mental health coverage and the policy reimbursement before scheduling a session with me.

How long is a therapy session?

-Individual sessions are typically 45 -90 minutes.

How many times a week would I have to see my therapist?

-Usually clients are seen once or twice a week in the beginning (depending on your individual needs for treatment)  then transition to biweekly or monthly (if needed) before services end.

How long will I be in therapy?

-Duration of therapy can differ from one client to another. Typically it depends on the nature of the problem that brings you to counseling services. Some clients are well suited for short term therapy (anywhere from 16 - 24 sessions) and for others counseling is an on-going learning process in where they choose to stay for a longer period of time in therapy.

Do I need to take medications?
-As a licensed counselor, I am not legally allowed to prescribe medications. Medication prescription is provided by a psychiatrist or typically clients see someone under their health insurance coverage.
